I’m not really sure about this whole blogging thing. Most of them I read seem to be written with this sort of sense of superiority.. like ooh look I did this or I know all about this and I’m going to tell you why it’s so great. Or I’d like to show you I’m really clever and have this really insightful view of something or other.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just the self-publicity aspect personally puts me off them a bit. So why the hell am I doing one then? I’m a hypocrite thats why.
Well actually there are some other reasons too:
- Now that I’m in America I don’t want everyone to forget about me and I thought it would be one good way to keep communications going now that the Highfield crew are dispersing around the world.. or outside Southampton at least. And I can put up photos too.
- There are alot of things here different to England that I find quite funny or interesting. And I thought you guys might find them funny and interesting too.
- I have a proper shit memory and I can’t see myself ever writing a diary, so hopefully it could be like a record for me of stuff and I can look back at it later and see what I actually did when I lived in California.
- This sounds pretty stupid but I actually don’t write very much and haven’t literally for years. And so when I do actually have to do some like a report for work or something it’s alot of effort… so this is some more practice I suppose.

Blogs are good. I’ve used mine to keep notes on how to do stuff..which is handy as people can google for it too if they’re having the same problem.
